At Icon Homz we take pride in owning quality homes and Villa plots in Bangalore Sarjapur road. All our projects define perfection and we want to give back only the best to our surroundings. Maintaining proper eco-friendly environment while constructing a home is essential and we have kept this in mind while constructing our villas in Sarjapur road. This week, we’re here to give you few tips to be eco-friendly by having green lighting options for your house!
Compact florescent bulbs (CFLs) come in a myriad of different shapes, sizes, and colours of light. Though they are not the cheapest option available in the market, they help in reducing the power usage and also last longer than the normal bulbs. Also CFLs release less heat so they are safer and also available easily in most shops.
Motion sensors can be a good way to keep lights turned off when they’re not used. Though this concept is not yet popular in India, it is a great idea to save power when not needed.
LEDs or light emitting diodes are a technology that allows for extremely energy efficient and extremely long-lasting light bulbs. LEDs cost quite a bit more than even CFLs, but consume less energy and last even longer. An LED light bulb can reduce energy consumption by 80-90% and last for around 1,00,000 hours. Most LED lamps on the market have the bulbs built into them, so you can buy the whole unit.
Finally having ample amount of natural lighting at home is a great start to reduce power consumption during the day time. Try avoiding curtains in the day so that the natural lighting flow is good indoors. This will reduce the power consumption considerably as well.
